Other interior features like a built-in bath and massive limestone fireplace contribute to the cozy elegance of the house.
The shake shingle entrance out front extends around the exterior of the build, unveiling a charming sunroom below a regal (though not ostentatious) cupola in back. In addition to the sunroom, a patio and walkout basement offer multiple entries into a gradually sloped backyard. Overall, the Newport Retreat transports traditional shingle style characteristics such as accent uniformity and that coveted East Coast aesthetic into a large, modern space — perfect for entertaining on a Saturday, kicking back on a Sunday, and settling back into a life of luxury with loved ones throughout the week ahead.
My favorite elements of this build were the cedar shake shingle, brick and limestone masonry chimney, limestone-recessed fireplace, and sunroom with cupola above.
