Though many architectural styles are derived from European influences, craftsman style homes (like shingle style homes) are a notable American exception. While the famous shingle style of architecture hails from the east coast, craftsman style homes come from the west coast, and more specifically Pasadena, California. It was here that Henry and Charles Greene started to design simple craftsman style bungalow homes in 1903.
One of the most prominent features of a craftsman style home is the set of tapered columns one often finds on the front of these builds. This detail is in full display on the front covered porch and open-air covered walkout patio of our Pasadena Pristine build.
